FAQs

What preparation is required for this test?

The lab provide the following recommendation ahead of this test:

  • Discontinue antibiotics, antiparasitics, antifungals, and probiotic supplements at least 14 days before starting the test; waiting 28 days after antibiotics is preferred for optimal accuracy

  • Discontinue proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) and bismuth 14 days prior if the H. pylori add-on is included

  • Stop aspirin, NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen), rectal suppositories, enemas, activated charcoal, bismuth, betaine HCL, digestive enzymes, antacids, laxatives, mineral oil, castor oil, and/or bentonite clay 2 days before the test

  • Continue taking all other medications as prescribed unless otherwise directed by your physician
