Who is the Adrenal Stress Profile for?
Anyone who:
Why do you ask for Heart Rate Variability (HRV) measurements?
Because HRV directly and reliably tells us whether your system is mobilized or demobilized (or somewhere inbetween). In other words, it tells us how it is using its resources (crucially, how much investment is being permitted into hormonal production). This speaks to how much of the obstacles found are because the body can’t maintain optimal balance (cellular dysfunction) or won’t maintain optimal balance (central resource management) and means you finally get insights that have a fair chance of actually working for you.
Taking these measurements is simple and requires only a few minutes. Even if you do not have a wearable device (like an Oura ring), this can be easily measured using any smartphone.
What preparation is required for this test?
Prior to the test, the lab recommends:
Medications: Certain medications can affect results (see Genova’s advice here). Consult your healthcare provider before the test if you are taking these. Do not stop or change any medications unless instructed by your provider
Plan Collection: Collect all saliva samples on the same day, following the strict timing schedule. Ship samples Monday–Thursday to avoid delays
On the day, the lab recommends:
Timing: Wake between 6:00 and 8:00 am. Collect four saliva samples at the following times:
1 hour after rising (morning sample)
11:00 am–1:00 pm (midday sample)
3:00–5:00 pm (afternoon sample)
10:00 pm–12:00 am (bedtime sample)
How to return the sample?
Freeze samples overnight and return by courier with self-addressed package (package and return postage included in price).
